The Christmas Haus Participates in Destination Gettysburg Holiday Shopping Trail

A holiday shopping trail (Merry Markets) is now open through Jan. 4 in Gettysburg.

Destination Gettysburg is encouraging visitors to shop local for gifts, prizes and discounts that are available at 27 different stores on a passport. Customers can earn points to pick out ornaments, pajamas and mugs.

“We wanted to also have it be kind of an event for people,” said Mary Grace Kauffman of Destination Gettysburg. “You can go downtown, get some hot chocolate, shop a little bit and go to a restaurant afterward.”

“There’s something extra special when you come in at Christmas time,” said Jennifer Popovice, the manager at the Christmas Haus. “We, and I’m sure a lot of other businesses that are on the tour, offer something you’re not going to see in a big box store.”
