About Us

Started with a simple idea, The Christmas Haus opened in June 2002 as The Summer House Collection. The idea on which the store was founded is to offer quality merchandise, at a good value, in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere. We found that "atmosphere" in New Oxford, PA in the form of an 1891 brick house and a charming town. The "quality" and "value" are traditions we have insisted upon since we opened our first store in 1992.

In 2018 owner Roger Lund purchased the Moses McClean house at 11 Baltimore Street in Gettysburg, PA. This home was built in about 1840. Renovation began and in 2019 our second location of The Christmas Haus opened in Gettysburg.

In 2021 the Gettysburg Chocolate Market was opened at 9 Baltimore Street right next door to The Christmas Haus.

In January of 2025 our location in New Oxford was permanently closed.

At The Christmas Haus you will enjoy an authentic German Christmas experience. Many of our ornaments come from a family whose history in glass blowing goes back to 1596. Many of the molds they use date from 1850-1895 and offer a classic look for your tree. You will also find German smokers, nutcrackers, pyramids and papier mâchè Belznickles, all made by individuals in small workshops in Germany. "Our selection always changes and grows," says owner Roger Lund. "Satisfying our customers is our primary goal, and we will not rest until we meet those needs."

If you plan a visit to Gettysburg, be sure to stop in at both The Christmas Haus and the Gettysburg Chocolate Market. You won't be disappointed!
